Black Seal Chalet

Your Home in Acadia National Park

Mount Desert Island, Maine

Home to Acadia National Park, Mount Desert Island is located in "Down East" Maine along the Atlantic coast.  MDI is home to the towns of Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Mount Desert, and Tremont. Several smaller communities lie within these towns such as Bass Harbor, Town Hill, Seal Cover and Otter Creek. Acadia National Park is the only National Park in the Northeast. The park contains the tallest mountain on the Atlantic Coast of the United States (Cadillac Mountain), exposed granite domes, glacially cut coastline, valleys, meadows, salt marshes, and cobble beaches. Woven into this picturesque landscape is a historic carriage road system, a lovely Sand Beach along the Ocean Path, and trails for every skill level.

Located on the "Quiet Side" of Mount Desert Island, ME the Black Seal Chalet is tucked away in a wooded 2 acres and filled with every amenity. Located in charming Southwest Harbor, the Black Seal is a brand new, modern home just minutes away from all that Acadia has to offer, including trails, restaurants, shopping, a beautiful working harbor, and a short drive to bustling Bar Harbor.

Don't let the nick name "Quiet Side" fool you. You are mere minutes from adventure! Just down the road from the Black Seal are the Bass Harbor Lighthouse, Seawall Picnic Area, the Wonderland and Ship Harbor Trails and Echo Lake Beach. Not much farther you can enjoy Sergeant Mountain, Beech Cliff Trails, and Acadia Mountain for great hikes, or stop by the village of Sommesville to grab a photo at one of the most picturesque places you've ever seen!
